Leading With Cultural Intelligence

Regardless of skills, capabilities and seniority, anyone venturing into unfamiliar countries to work will need to mature their cultural intelligence to be successful. Cultural intelligence being one's ability to successfully adapt to unfamiliar cultural settings and be truly mindful as they go about their day.
Those who believe their culture is “normal” and that all others (who they call “foreigners”) are abnormal, will struggle to be comfortable and successful in a very different cultural environment.
An old but excellent book by Richard D. Lewis is When Cultures Collide, while a more recent online publication is Leading with Cultural Intelligence.
