55 Shades of Innovation
A new methodology known as “The Business Model Navigator” has been developed by the Business Model Innovation Lab in St Gallen, Switzerland to help companies innovate their business models, and move from the old to the new. The methodology structures the process of innovation of a company’s business model and encourages creative thinking, which is a key prerequisite for successful business models.
In the book The Business Model Navigator, the authors describe how, through extensive empirical research involving hundreds of companies, they discovered that 55 business models are responsible for 90% of the world’s most successful businesses. Through creative recombination, these models can help you innovate your current business model through the four dimensions of who, what, how and why, that describe all business models.
